installation in 9 rooms, one prologue and one epilogue

Fairy tales are profoundly intimate moments which cross time-space coordinates to land on an entirely personal territory.
We are working again on a fairy tale urged by the desire to tackle a theme pertaining to collective imagery; in it, we can turn away from events and dive into the universe of images, evocations and suggestions of the tale.
.h.g. takes birth as a reading – and revision – of the classical fairy tale of Hänsel and Gretel, in the shape of an installation where theatre and visual arts merge. The spectator walks through 9 different physical-sensory rooms accompanied and guided by earphones. Each room is a world on its own, a passage leading to universes between wake and dream: here the mind slips into imagery and turns from an external spectator into an integral part of the experience. We cover the story in search for the breaking and intersecting points, the links between the world of childhood and the world of adulthood.
Hänsel and Gretel is a bestial, cruel and ruthless story
It is a story made up of sounds and silences
It is a story of bones and flesh, of food and hunger
It is story about a home, then about a wood, then again a home
It is the story of two children who penetrate the thick of the wood, holding each other’s hand
It is a story which smells of cleanliness and ferocity at the same time
.h.g. works on the intersection between this ferocity and childish lightness, in an experience which tends to being both aesthetical and sensory.
